While updating this post for 2025, I went back and forth on what theme to choose for this year. The obvious prompts for the May Doodle Challenge would be Spring and all things flowers, but I wanted it to be more challenging. So I went with all flowers.
If you’re like me, you might do floral doodles pretty often, but you probably do mostly the same types of flowers. This month’s challenge will push you out of your floral comfort zone!
If you follow me on Instagram you’re probably familiar with Stop Drop Doodle Challenge. You don’t have to be on Instagram to join us in the challenge! Check out doodle a day prompts below and join us this month! You can do this challenge in your bullet journal or use our free doodle printable to play along!
May Doodle Challenge
Doodling is a great way to relax and take your mind off things that might be eating at you. Whether you consider yourself an artist or you’re just getting started drawing, working on doodles is the perfect thing to do!
You don’t have to be great at drawing to doodle. This isn’t art class. There’s no grades or judgement. You just have to take a deep breath, relax, and let yourself be creative! I know I always feel better after I take a little break to be creative in some way.
Many people doodle in our bullet journals. You can set your doodling up any way that you want! I often sketch a grid layout in a separate notebook from my daily journal. It’s a simple layout and I like the way it looks when it’s complete.
You can see an example from one of my old notebooks below.

But the best part of doodle challenges is that you can take the drawing prompts and do what works best for you! Whether you use a grid or you just randomly place your doodles on a page for the month, your creativity is really your only limit!
