I love summer-themed doodles and since I live in Texas, we’re in the thick of summer weather as we roll into July which means it’s hot and I have the beach on my mind! So the July doodle challenge theme this year is beach and ocean related things.
If you follow me on Instagram you’re probably familiar with Stop Drop Doodle Challenge. You can follow the challenge using the hashtag #StopDropDoodle but you don’t have to be on Instagram to doodle this month! You can get all of the doodle a day prompts below.
JULY DOODLE CHALLENGE
No matter what stage you’re at in your doodling journey, you can draw using these doodle prompts. You can use any materials you feel comfortable with. If you want to use pencil, feel free! I like to use fine point pens or markers because I’m a huge fan of color. I usually sketch my doodles first though!
You can even do your doodles digitally. I have an iPad and Apple pen that I sometimes use when I’m just messing around. The beauty of a doodle challenge is that you can make it work for you!

BULLET JOURNAL DOODLES
Many of us do our daily doodle in our bullet journals. You can draw out a grid like my example below from a past doodle challenge. Or you can do more of a freehand layout where you just fit the doodles in wherever they work on the page.

If you prefer, I create a doodle challenge printable page each month.
You can download the printable below. It has a box for every day of the month and the prompts are listed on the page so you don’t have to worry about keeping track of the daily prompts. Each day will be waiting for you!
Scroll down to the bottom of this post to get your free printable!
DOODLE SUPPLIES
As I mentioned before, you can use any doodling supplies you like! You can try different ones each month.
This month I’m using planning to use my Staedtler Triplus Fineliner Pens. They’re usually pretty affordable and I like that they have all the basic colors I need, including a black pen for outlining.

PRINTABLE DOODLE PAGE
If you’re a fan of using printables in your journal or you just want to have separate pages for your doodles, I’ve made a printable calendar page. It’s a great way to have all of the prompts at your fingertips this month!
CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PRINTABLE DOODLE PAGE
It includes a box for each day of the challenge with the prompts included on the page for you too! All you have to do is your daily doodle! And if you’re on Instagram, use the hashtag #stopdropdoodle and tag me @the.petite.planner to share a photo of your doodle!
