We are roughly two months away from my all-time favorite holiday. Yep. Christmas.
There are two types of people. Those who are like me and get overly giddy about Christmas in October, and those who don’t want to see a Christmas light until after Thanksgiving.
So, bear with me as I clap and dance around my living room in November to the sound of Mariah Carey singing, all I want for Christmas… is youuuuu!
Now, I don’t know what’s on your wishlist this year, but mine is full of stationery supplies. And if my husband catches my hints, maybe a nice gift card to Lululemon.
But, this 2018 bullet journal gift guide isn’t all about what I want. I asked the community a while back what they wanted most this year and then tallied up all the answers and did some research and exploring on my own to bring you the most epic gift guide of 2018.
Some of the items from my Mother’s Day Gift Guide are repeated on this list because they are still relevant and totally awesome. But, don’t click away because there are tons of amazing gift ideas on this list that you don’t want to miss out on.
Whether you are shopping for a significant other, a sibling, a parent, a friend, or a co-worker, if they are a bullet journal enthusiast, they will love the items on this list.
2018 Bullet Journal Gift Guide: 17 Awesome Stationery Products and Bullet Journaler Will Love
Getting stationery as a gift is always acceptable. Everything from new markers and pens to notebooks, stickers, and washi tape. Plus, anything that will help a bullet journal enthusiast and stationery hoarder to keep their supplies organized is also appreciated.
So, on this list, you will find a little bit everything from the categories above. And with this list, you don’t have to worry about your gift being loved and being used.
1). Tombow Dual Brush Pens
According to a recent survey I did on Instagram, Tombow Dual Brush Markers are the number one most requested item on peoples’ wish lists. And, as I was writing this, Tombow released 3 new limited edition packs: The Holiday Edition, Citrus Edition, and Desert Flora.
Each contains 10 themed colors from the original 96-color set. You can buy them on Tombow USA or wait and see if Amazon stocks them at a little cheaper price.
And there are still 10 other 10-packs you can choose from that are available on Amazon. With so many color choices, there really isn’t a wrong option.
2). The Bullet Journal Method
This book is a must-have for anyone who loves their bullet journal and wants to further understand how to improve their life through productivity and flexible planning.
It’s written by the creator of the Bullet Journal system, Ryder Carroll. So, this book provides the best info for both new bullet journal enthusiasts and those who have been doing it for years.
3). Icon, Box, and Line Stencil
This stencil caught my eye on Amazon a while back, and I knew it had to be included on this list. It’s very affordable and will offer value to all bullet journal lovers.
Whether you want to draw a straight line, measure, draw a header box, or create a dotted line, this tool will be an excellent addition to anyone’s supply arsenal.
4). Skinny Washi Tape Set
Washi tape is all the rage with the bullet journal community, and there is no question why. There are thousands of styles and designs to choose from, it’s relatively inexpensive, and it adds a colorful and creative touch with little time and effort.
Many stores carry standard sized washi tape, but this skinny washi tape set is beautiful, delicate, and great for adding just thin borders, dividers, etc. in your bullet journal.
With this set, you get 48 rolls. Sixteen of the rolls include foiled detail and they come in an easy to wrap clear PVC box.
5). Marker Nook
This marker organizer is a dream come true for any stationery or art fan. You can easily organize your markers by color family and keep them horizontal, which is the preferred method of storing most art pens.
Depending on the size of the markers, this organizer can hold between 180-220 markers. And because it stands vertically, it takes up very little space on your desk.
6). Hp Sproket
The rave for these tiny printers is still in full force. You can print directly from your phone and edit photos before printing. Also, the paper used in these little printers has a sticky backing. Which makes it easy to quickly print a photo and stick it directly into your bullet journal without the use of tape or glue.
7). Fujifilm Instax Mini
Similarly to the Hp Sprocket above, the Fujifilm allows users to snap pics wherever they are and print them out instantly, like the old Polaroid cameras.
You can get the Fujifilm Instax bundle and get everything a journal and photo enthusiast would need, including colored lens filters, a carrying case, film, photo borders, stickers, and more.
8). Gelly Roll Gel Pens
Gel pens are excellent for adding color, writing faux-calligraphy, and doodling in your bullet journal. But often times, when you buy a pack of gel pens, some of the colors don’t work straight out of the box.
That’s why I recommend spending a little bit more to get the best brand of gel pens around. Gelly Roll is made by Sakura, who is a well known and highly respected art brand.
I have had Gelly Roll pens since I was in 2nd grade, and I wouldn’t bother to use another brand.
They come in a huge variety of colors and finishes. You can buy small packs or you can save money and buy the 74-pack that includes the metallic, classic, stardust, and gold and silver-shadow collections.
9). Staedtler Triplus Fineliners
Every bullet journal lover needs a good pack of colored fineline pens. And Staedtler offers the largest variety of colors and the best quality in their pen sets.
They are great for coloring, drawing fine details, and writing. There is no limit as to what you can do and create with these pens.
These pens have a 0.3mm nib and are dry-safe, meaning they won’t dry out if you leave the cap off.
10. Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens
Similarly to colored pens, every journaler needs a nice set of black fineline pens. They create the richest black lines, are great for fine detailing, and excellent for writing.
While there are tons of wonderful brands of black fineline pens to choose from, (you can see my breakdown of fineliners in this post) Faber-Castell is the favorite of the bullet journal community. They come in a nice variety of nib widths, are priced similarly to other brands, and are comfortable to hold for doodling and writing.
You can buy these pens at my most big box arts and crafts stores, but you will find them much cheaper on Amazon.
11). Tombow Fude Pens
If you want to give the gift of brush lettering, these pens are a wonderful option. The Tombow Fude pens are avaialble with two different tips. One is hard and one is soft.
If you are just learning brush lettering, the hard tip is an excellent starting point. It allows the user to create the thicker downstrokes and thinner upstrokes while also allowing room for error.
Once you have some practice, the soft tip is amazing for creating beautiful brush lettered headers. You can buy a pack on Amazon that comes with both the hard and soft tip so that you can play around with the two individually.
12). Scribbles That Matter Notebook
The Scribbles That Matter notebooks are among the most popular and most wanted notebooks in the community, according to my recent survey on Instagram.
With their 100gsm paper, built-in index, key page, and pen test pages, the pen loop, color variety, and other features, this notebook has the best value for the price.
And the holiday season is the perfect time to get your loved one a new journal as the start of the year is right around the corner and having a new journal to start in January can feel like a fresh start.
13. Zebra Mildliners
Mildliners are among the top of the most requested items from around the bullet journal community. They have very unique colors that are semi-transparent, meaning they work well for highlighting and writing directly on top of.
Also, these pens are dual ended with a standard highlighter chisel tip and then a smaller bullet nib on the other end. This makes them great for coloring, writing, highlighting, etc.
There are a total of 20 markers in the entire collection but come as sets of 5 in theme color sets. You can snag all 4 of these 5-packs on Amazon.
14. Zip-Up Pen Case
These zip-up pen cases are the perfect storage solution for those on the go. It can carry 202 colored pencils or 136 gel pens. It also comes with a handy front pocket and a small strap for carrying.
The elastic bands that hold the pens/pencils make it easy to move, remove, and see all of your colors. There is no struggling to find the color you are looking for or remove it when you need it.
If you aren’t a fan of the bold colors and design, there are seven other designs to choose from.
15. Planner Stickers
When asked what people had on their wishlist, a large percentage of people answered with planner stickers. Planner stickers are excellent for quickly creating spreads with a common theme and adding color and decoration.
You can get planner stickers just about anywhere, from Walmart to Michaels and Etsy to Amazon. For more custom stickers, definitely check out Etsy, as they have some of the world’s best small creators.
But, you can find high quality, professional stickers, like those pictured above for less on Amazon as well. The pack shown above contains 20 sheets and a total of 1,000 stickers!
16. Die-Cut Decorative Stickers
Along with the standard planning stickers, decorative stickers make a great stocking stuffer and gift. These watercolor succulent stickers are awesome and can add a lot of appeal to any page.
This pack contains 28 individual die-cut stickers that range in size from 1-2.5″. They can be used to decorate the interior pages of your journal or the outer cover.
17. Watercolor Set
Give the gift of creativity with this beautiful and high-quality watercolor set. The set includes 36 colors in a single and convenient case.
The Kuretake watercolors create the most beautiful colors and are among the top-rated watercolor sets on Amazon. This is not to be missed on your gifting list this year.
*BONUS GIFT IDEAS*
Sometimes the best gifts are those that keep on giving. That’s why I wanted to include a few “different” gifts in this bullet journal gift guide.
Skillshare Membership: You may have already heard of Skillshare, or maybe not. They are a learning platform that has thousands of online classes on a wide variety of topics.
Give this gift and your loved one can learn how to draw, do watercolor painting, brush lettering, hand lettering, and so much more.
Honestly, this is a gift anyone can enjoy because there are classes on just about every subject you can imagine. Want to learn photography, graphic design, email marketing, how to use Photoshop or Illustrator, how to create your own Etsy shop, etc.? They have it all.
Pipsticks Membership: Another great gift idea is a membership to Pipsticks, which is the best sticker subscription service around.
Each month, Pipsticks sends out a pack filled with tons of high quality, unique stickers including foiled stickers, transparent stickers, bumpy stickers, smelly stickers, etc.
I have enjoyed each and every monthly pack that Pipsticks has ever sent me.
Did you find a gift that your loved one will enjoy on this list? If so, please be sure to share this 2018 bullet journal gift guide with your friends on Facebook, Pinterest, or Twitter.

Hi! I was thrilled to see the skinny washi tape on this list! My daughter bought me this exact set for my birthday, and I just adore it. There are so many cute designs, and the size is perfect for spacers or making little frames for notes or pictures. I’ve added the Tombow Fude pens to my Holiday wishlist.
