With a new month comes journal spreads and layouts! I always get excited to share what I’ve come up with for my personal bullet journal. I’m sharing this month’s plan with me video so you can get a closer look at how I set everything up. I also found some great March Bullet Journal Ideas to inspire you this month!

MARCH BULLET JOURNAL IDEAS
This month, I wanted to give more set up ideas that work well for beginners. There is so much beautiful inspiration online and I know it can be overwhelming. But you can have fun colors and themes in your bujo without it being crazy. I promise!
My theme for March includes rainbow colors, stripes, and dots. I only used a handful of basic supplies because you don’t have to have a million expensive journaling supplies to create your spreads!
March is all about spring being right around the corner. For so many of us, it has Spring Break along with some other fun days that can inspire your March bujo theme!
- Dr. Suess’s Birthday – March 2nd
- Read Across America Day – March 2nd (Great inspiration for book lovers!)
- International Women’s Day – March 8th
- Girl Scouts Day – March 12th (How fun would girl scout cookies be as a bullet journal theme?!?)
- In 2020, March has a Friday the 13th. This could be some fun inspiration if you’re into horror!
- National Pi Day – March 14th (You could go with a math theme or a PIE theme!)
- St. Patrick’s Day – March 17th (This is where I pulled my inspiration for my rainbow colors from this month. But you could use the holiday, the color green, shamrocks, gold, or leprechauns!)
- Spring Break – travel, sunshine, warm weather
- March Madness starts – March 17th
- First Day of Spring – March 19th
- Major League Baseball Opening Day – March 26th (in 2020)
- National Crayon Day – March 31st (Crayons would be a cute and colorful theme to use!)
My son plays Little League baseball so one of these years I’m going to have to use baseball as my march theme! I think it would be such a fun bullet journal theme. Sports of any kind are a great inspiration, no matter what month of the year it is!
You can use any of the fun March 2020 calendar days as inspiration!
Another fun bujo theme idea for March would be “In like a lion, out like a lamb.” I think a lion theme could be really awesome if you’re an animal lover!
MARCH BULLET JOURNAL supplies
As I mentioned, I kept my supplies for this month to a very short list. These are supplies I would consider to be some great ones for bullet journalers of any experience level!
- My current notebook is the SEQES Dot Grid Notebook (160gsm, Lake Blue Squirrel)
- THE RULER SET I’M OBSESSED WITH
- Sakura Pigma Micron Pens
- Zebra Mildliner Double Ended Highlighters
- Pentel Hi-Polymer Eraser
- Pentel Mechanical Pencil (you can use any pencil you like, but I prefer mechanical pencils)
- WHITE GELLY ROLL PEN LIFESAVER (This was not in my original plan this month, but these are a great way to fix little mistakes!)
bullet journal MONTHLY setup
This month I included the following pages:
- Quote page
- Cover page
- Monthly spread
- One page weekly layouts
- Meal planner/Shopping list/Habit tracker pages
- Anxiety and Depression mood tracker
- Month in Review page
I’ve shared about how I’m not a huge fan of large weekly spreads so this month I decided to go down to one page per week. Honestly, I do a lot of running list journaling in my monthly calendar layout so I’m not sure how helpful my weeklies are for me.
That’s the beauty of bullet journaling! We can tweak our journals to be whatever we need them to be!
MOOD TRACKER & MONTH IN REVIEW
For the past few months, I’ve turned my mood tracker into an anxiety and depression tracker. I wanted to track them together to look for any patterns or correlations. It’s been very interesting so I plan to continue coming up with designs to track them together!
This month I also added a month in review page so I would take time to look back at the month and reflect. I haven’t been doing much reflection this year and I do think I benefit from it.
