9 Bullet Journal Supplies That Will Make Your Life Easier
1). Square Stencil
I just recently came across this stencil on Amazon and was baffled that I had never seen it. Can you imagine how much easier making monthly spreads would be with this stencil?
2). Mini Habit Tracker Stamp
I found this mini habit tracker stamp on Etsy. It’s made by a lovely stamp shop called Creatiate. They have amazing high-quality stamps for all kinds of artsy projects. But, they also have a number of journaling and planning stamps, like this one, a vertical squares checklist, and a water tracker.
3). 160 Slot Zippered Pencil Case
Most people would scoff at the idea of this large pencil case. But you and I, we see the value in this sweet piece of faux-leather, elastic, and zipper. It’s the carry-all for all of your favorite pens. No more heading to the airport, to work, or on vacation with a Ziplock bag full of pens. Plus it comes in this lovely teal, black, grey, hot pink, and brown.
4). Circle Maker
How many times have you tried to use a standard compass and wanted to snap it in half because it moves around or presses a hole in your page? Bring forth the simple helix circle maker. You can make tons of different sizes, the tool is compact and easy to carry, and it’s really affordable.
5). Mini Calendar Stickers
Kara, from Boho Berry, has a fabulous Etsy shop where she sells all kinds of journaling stickers which she draws herself. I absolutely love these mini calendar stickers. Instead of having to write out each month in a tiny space, you can use these stickers, and they also have a tab so you can quickly flip to the current month.
6). 5mm Ruler
I don’t know how many times I’ve wished for this exact bullet journal tool. This ruler has spacing every 5 millimeters and shows the number of boxes along the side. Goodbye counting, and hello incredibly fast spread making abilities.
7). Checklist Stencil
My checklist boxes never turn out perfectly even. And I’m certainly not going to spend extra time using my ruler to draw out each little box. This checklist stencil is the perfect solution. And it’s only as a big as a credit card.
8). Practice Journal
This item deserves an entire post of its own. If you are a perfectionist and hate making mistakes, you should have a practice journal to try out new techniques, practice spreads, and doodles before putting them into your day to day journal. In the long run, it may save you money since you won’t be ripping out or covering up pages in your actual bullet journal. Choose a cheaper dot grid journal, even if it ghosts, and use it solely for practicing your creative skills.
9). Letter Stencils
Forget trying to find the perfect font and then trying to replicate it. Use these letter stencils to write stunning headers without all the time and effort.
What bullet journal supplies are you most looking forward to getting from this list? I’m all about the 5mm ruler and pencil case.

Hi Namitha,
There are so many great things on this list. I want them all. The pencil case is definitely handy. I am like you, and have a ridiculous amount of pens and pencils. It’s slightly ridiculous. But I don’t regret it. Lol.

Hi Manon, me too! What an awesome time saver, right?

Hi Erin!
Did you try to put your Bullet Journal into one of the zippers of the pencilcase instead of the pens? Would this fit? I’d like to have one little bag for all of my pens and my journal.
Greetings from Germany,
Katharina

Hi Katharina,
I don’t believe this pencil case will hold your journal and pens. However, I do believe Amazon has some that do hold both a journal and some pens; just not as many as this case. Hope this helps you make a good decision.
Have a lovely day!

Thank you for your answer. So I will have to go on looking for one and in the end sew one on my own 😉

Just what I need. I spent over an hour on my Feb calendar page last night and am unhappy with the results. I always get ink smears! Any suggestions for what pens to use and NOT use??
erinnichols91 says
Hi Debbie, it really depends on a lot of factors. Most pens will smear a little if you rub your hand over them immediately afterwards. You can try putting a scrap piece of paper under your hand while you write and this should stop any smearing. I use Staedtler Pigment Liners and they don’t usually smear, but sometimes if I move too quick it does happen.
