Once Spring has hit, you might find yourself in Easter planning mode. If you do celebrate the holiday and the tradition of the Easter bunny and egg hunts, then there’s a fun way to spread the fun throughout your neighborhood. Start a You’ve Been Egged tradition with your friends and neighbors this year!
This tradition is very similar to the Halloween You’ve Been Booed activity, just with an Easter twist.
You can download the free You’ve Been Egged printable to make planning to egg your neighbors easy this year!

YOU’VE BEEN EGGED SIGN
Egging your neighbors is easy to do. It’s fun no matter how old you are and you can do it no matter where you live. You could even egg your coworkers if you work in an office!
There are a few easy steps to starting a You’ve Been Egged tradition with your friends, family, and neighbors.
HOW TO EGG SOMEONE
There are two ways to egg someone this Easter.
One way is very similar to making a You’ve Been Booed at Halloween. You can make a basket full of Easter goodies and leave it for your neighbor, friend, or coworker.
You can use the free printable below for that too.
But the You’ve Been Egged printable sign I created is to be used with a different approach. Instead of a basket, you use 12 Easter eggs filled with goodies!

YOU’VE BEEN EGGED SUPPLIES
Whether you decide to do a basket or eggs with goodies, you’ll need some fillers. Here are some the items I use to fill eggs (some are more focused on eggs for kids and others for adults):
- Chocolate & other candy
- Jelly Beans
- Bubblegum
- Stickers
- Temporary tattoos
- Bouncy balls
- Squishy toys
- Plastic rings
- Money – coins work well, especially intesting ones like silver dollars or a $2 bill
- Scratch tickets (adults LOVE these)
Anything small enough to fit in the plastic eggs is fair game. If you use the larger plastic eggs, you’ll have even more options. You could also use confetti eggs for some fun. Or turn your plastic eggs into homemade confetti eggs.
If you’re doing a basket instead of eggs, you can purchase bigger items and even go with the a theme like movie night.
You’ll also need a printer and paper (I recommend printing these signs on cardstock to make them more durable) so you can print out your You’ve Been Egged signs.
You can shop some of the items I recommend below.

HOW DOES YOU’VE BEEN EGGED WORK?
The process of egging your neighbor is very easy.
Print your You’ve Been Egg printables. I recommend making two copies — one to hang on the door/put in the basket and one to give to the person you egg so they have a copy to pass on to the next person.
Fill 12 eggs with goodies.
Spread the eggs around your neighbor’s yard. (Or wherever you’re spreading eggs — in a classroom, in an office, or even a cubicle)
Hang the You’ve Been Egged sign on your neighbor’s door (use tape that won’t leave a mark or take off paint). Leave the extra pages for them. (You can also leave the sign and pages in their mailbox if you don’t want to tape anything on their door.)
Leave the surprise for them to discover or ring the doorbell and book it out of there!
