When it comes to planning my September Bullet Journal, I will admit that fall is always what comes to mind first. But here in Texas, September usually feels like summer outside, so I decided to save some of my fall ideas for October and instead show you one of my bullet journal hacks!
My September bullet journal theme is cacti and succulent themed because I fell in love with a few stickers from some new sticker books. Read on to see how you can set up your planner without having to know how to doodle or do any fancy lettering!
SEPTEMBER BULLET JOURNAL THEME
If you’ve been following me on YouTube, you know I’ve been trying to show some simple journaling hacks for those of you who feel like they can’t draw or do fancy hand lettering. You CAN have a cute journal without all of that!
Last month I showed you how to use a stamp set to create a cute underwater/water creatures bullet journal setup. Click here to watch the video and see how I only used stamps and a ruler to set it all up!
This month I wanted to show you another easy bullet journal hack.
You can set up your monthly planner using stickers!
SEPTEMBER BULLET JOURNAL THEME
When I was planning this setup, I did splurge and order some new sticker books. I wanted to show you how you could order a ton of stickers and work with them to create September bullet journal themes.
The two books I ordered were:
- 1000+ Ridiculously Cute Stickers (Series 1)
- 1000+ Totes Adorbs Super Awesome Stickers – Magical (Series 2)
I figured these two books would give me enough options to come up with a theme I liked. They definitely did. There are enough stickers to do multiple months of bullet journal ideas.
My supply list for this month’s set up was super simple:
- CURRENT NOTEBOOK – SEQES Dot Grid Notebook (160gsm, Lake Blue Squirrel)
- 1000+ Ridiculously Cute Stickers (Series 1)
- 1000+ Totes Adorbs Super Awesome Stickers – Magical (Series 2)
- Stabilo Point 88 Fineliner Pens
- Green Ruler Set
- Pentel Hi-Polymer Eraser
HOW TO USE STICKERS IN BULLET JOURNAL SET UP
You don’t have to use the same stickers I did to get a great look in your planner. All you have to do is follow a few simple steps to choose your stickers and then you’ll be ready to roll with your September Bullet Journal!
- Flip through your stickers looking for common themes and/or common colors. (The great thing about the sticker books I bought is that many of the same colors ran throughout the different stickers, no matter what theme they were.)
- Look for stickers to fit your specific pages. (Letters for your monthly cover page, stickers with quotes on them, etc.)
- Decide on which stickers you want to use and remove them from the book. (I fell in love with some of the cactus/succulent stickers in these books and knew I had to use them.)
- Look through your pens, markers, and colored pencils to find colors that coordinate well with the stickers you chose. (I was able to find great color matches for my stickers in my set of Stabilo Point 88 Fineliner Pens.)
- Get ready to sketch out some basic pages and start adding stickers and color!
For my monthly cover page, I used letter stickers and some stickers that look like washi tape. It’s very simple, but I think I really like it.
For my quote page, I found the “Good Vibes” sticker in one of the books. With the craziness of life right now, it seemed like a good quote to focus on this month. I also love that the color went with many of the cacti and succulent stickers I picked out.
You’ll see that this month I kept everything very minimal in my planning. The great thing about stickers is that it’s easy to keep it as minimal or as detailed as you want!
I went with a four-page set up this month that included the September cover page, quote page, a one-page calendar, habit trackers, and mood trackers.
My life is starting to get a bit busier these days so I wanted to put together something practical but easy. I haven’t been using weeklies at all lately, so I stuck with the calendar spread to see how a more minimal approach works.
