By popular demand, and a fair voting system, in November I will be hosting a Harry Potter Doodle Challenge on Instagram. Join the magic!

Oh my gosh, you guys, I almost forgot to post the doodle challenge for November here. My apologies. I’m not pregnant so I can’t blame it on that, and after watching Grey’s Anatomy, I can, in fact, confirm I do not have Alzheimer’s. So, I guess I’ll blame my project load as of late. Life is hectic here in the Northwest. How is it where you are?
But, it’s the 30th of October and you bet your right butt cheek I’ll have this up tonight. And then I’ll move on to my next project, uploading some stuff to my Etsy shop. But for now, let’s focus on the amazingness of November’s challenge. The Harry Potter Doodle Challenge is about to be epic.
November Doodle Challenge Rules
We are doing a Harry Potter Doodle Challenge for the month of November. The theme was voted for by my followers on Instagram. I give my followers the chance to vote on a theme near the end of each month. This month, Harry Potter won over football and TV shows by a mile. Once it’s voted in, I make the prompts and upload the challenge to my Instagram feed and blog [you’re here!]. So, if you would like to vote for next month’s theme, be sure to follow me on Instagram.
Also, if you would like to download a printable grid for this Doodle Challenge, I have a 2-page A5 PDF download in my VIP Resource Library. It’s free to use and comes with both a 30 and 31-day option. Sign up to gain access here.
Rules
There aren’t really any rules. But I get asked frequently how these doodle challenges work. People hear ‘challenge’ and think RULES. Well, my rules are simple and flexible. You do not have to follow any of these. They’re more like guidelines… wobbly guidelines.
- Starting on the 1st of the month, doodle to the corresponding prompt for the day. Do this to the best of your ability. Remember it’s not a contest and no one is judging you.
- Take a picture of your doodle and upload it to Instagram. Hashtag the photo with #oodlesofdoodleschallengenov. Also, tag me, @the.petite.planner, so I can see your photo and leave you a comment.
- Search the hashtag on Instagram and leave some love for other people who are participating. Supporting others is highly encouraged.
- Complete one doodle a day for the entire month of November. When you’re all done, you’ll have a masterpiece of doodles.

Final Thoughts
You guys absolutely kill it every month with these doodle challenges. I’m always blown away by the talent and time people put into their doodles. It’s incredible and inspiring, and I want to say thank you! And, more importantly, I want to relay a very important message. If you are feeling too intimidated to join these doodle challenges because you don’t feel like your skills are adequate, please don’t hesitate to share your work and join in. There is no judgment. This is all in fun and is made to incorporate doodling practice into our daily routines.
To gain some perspective, check out my post comparing my first bullet journal with my current journal. Practice is the key, and you don’t have to be a renowned artist to post on Instagram.
If you want to improve your skills in hand lettering, doodling, or more realistic drawing methods, check out Skillshare. The teachers are excellent and walk you through their courses step-by-step. In the few months I’ve been using Skillshare, I can honestly say my doodling and lettering skills have improved dramatically. You can get a FREE month with my link. And you can cancel anytime before the end of your free month to avoid any charges if you aren’t loving it.
