As of today, there are fifty days until Christmas! FIFTY! Raise your freaking hands if you’re as excited as I am.
This is my favorite time of year. No matter how bitter cold it gets, how deep the snow is, or how much I say I miss summer, I absolutely love this time of year. Christmas lights, hot buttered rum, and the act of giving make my heart sing. As I get older, I am really starting to understand the joy of giving.
Yes, there was a time in my life where it was all about ME. Give ME the gifts. Hear MY wishlist. Even into my early twenties, I couldn’t wait for Christmas because of the gifts for ME. Trust me, that girl is long gone.
Now, I care more about watching my children and family open gifts and cards FROM me. I care about sharing the wealth and giving to those in need. My main priority during the holiday season isn’t me anymore. It’s being kind, sharing, and spreading love and compassion.
But, enough with the soppy BS. If I go on, I might cry. And no one wants that.
The real reason we are here is to discuss stationery inspired stocking stuffers!
One of the things I enjoy shopping for most during Christmas time is stocking stuffers. I put my heart and soul into finding non-junk items that don’t cost a fortune and have some value to the recipient. It’s fun and really challenges your problem-solving skills. What can you fit in a stocking that adds value to someone’s life and won’t break the bank?
Not a diamond ring.
Not a gift card to their favorite boutique.
Not a new set of car keys (unless you’re the Kardashian’s).
Not the new iPhone (Santa, if you happen to read my blog, I REALLY want the iPhone. It’s on my Amazon wishlist.)
Not a Rolex.
All of those things will fit in a stocking, and will definitely make someone very happy. But, are they realistic? Probably not. So let’s get on with the realistic stocking stuffer ideas. The ones that are budget-friendly and still downright awesome.
