Starting a blank bullet journal may be intimidating to some. Maybe there’s too much freedom, or maybe you don’t have time to keep up on weekly and monthly spreads. Here, you will find a great resource of bullet journal alternatives that still allow you to be productive and creative.
BULLET JOURNAL ALTERNATIVES
Undated planners are one of the best bullet journal alternatives if you aren’t quite ready to make the leap into a full-blown bullet journal. They allow you the room and freedom to customize your spreads, add your goals, and be productive. Be sure to find one that suits your needs and that you will keep up on. It should be easy with this ultimate list of undated planners and prompt journals.
Customized Planner from Etsy
I didn’t really get into Etsy until this past year. I bought one of my boyfriend’s Christmas Gifts on there and was instantly in personalized shopping heaven. And yes, you can find loads of bullet journal supplies and planner goodies there too. It’s one of the best places to go for stickers [hint hint].
I found this undated planner on Etsy and considered buying it for myself, even though I prefer a blank layout. It’s A5 format, comes with weekly and monthly pages in your choice of vertical or horizontal layouts, monthly goals and reflections pages, life coach pages, interior print colors, and some blank pages in the back.
Happy Planner
This is probably the most widely used and loved undated planner around. They have beautiful designs, are discbound so they’re rearrangeable and give you the ability to add your own pages, and they are very budget friendly, and are a great starter planner for anyone who wants to try their hand at bullet journaling. You can usually get them at Michael’s on a discount, AND apply a coupon to get an even better deal.
In the starter kit, you get a bunch of great planner accessories, too. It comes with stickers, sticky notes, a pen, and a folder to keep you organized and motivated. Once you have the base kit, there are all kinds of upgrades like gold discs, big sticker packs, dashboards, and more. Believe me, these planners are hot. The Simple Elephant
It comes as no surprise that this undated planner #1 Best Seller on Amazon. This beauty has a hard leatherette cover, an elastic closure band, numbered pages, 3 bookmarks, affirmation and goal pages, more than 50 blank pages for notes, vision board space, mindmap space, and effective weekly layouts.
Get Sh*t done, set big and ambitious goals, and make every day productive with this little gem.
Law of Attraction Planner
This sweetie isn’t all looks, but I totally agree, it’s pretty. The Law of Attraction planner one of my favorite bullet journal alternatives. The interior pages are based on scientific studies that promote positivity and improve productivity. Each weekly spread comes with a place to put your goals, rewards, priorities, an inspirational quote, to-do list, and a habit tracker. There’s also a full-color mood page with positive action suggestions to make you happier.
This is my top choice because of it’s sleek and stylish design, abundance of productivity tools, and freedom.
Color Drawing Schedule
The last undated planner on this list is a fun and creative option. The Color Drawing Schedule has beautiful undated weekly and monthly layouts with cute floral designs that can be colored in, to your liking. It also comes with a note section and a checklist section for a more personalized goal setting and priority tracking experience. There are four different cover designs, and you get one at random, so it’s a big surprise when you receive your new planner.
There are four different cover designs, and you get one at random, so it’s a big surprise when you recieve your new planner. This could be either a pro or con, depending on your personal preference.
Bullet journaling shouldn’t be intimidating. The original purpose of it was quick and effective planning and productivity. However, with it’s popularity and growth on social media as a creative outlet, many people are afraid to start one because theirs might not measure up. A quick note from me: don’t look at social media and set your expectations based off someone else. This is like looking in a Sports Illustrated magazine and wanting to look like one of the models posed on a Caribbean beach. Your bullet journal or planner doesn’t have to be fancy or even colorful. You don’t need a million supplies, although it does become an addiction.
That being said, if you still think the bullet journal is too big of a leap at this time, one of the above options would be a great place to start. Planning and prioritizing your daily life is a great habit, no matter how you get it done.
