New year equals a new journal? Here are the items you’re going to want before you start in your 2018 bullet journal.

You can’t have enough stamps, washi tape, or pens. I justify this to my fiance by saying the items are small and I can hide it all away so there’s no clutter. He can’t hide his ever-growing shoe collection in a 3 drawer organizing bin. I win.
So, don’t think you can’t have more. You can always have more.
BULLET JOURNAL MUST-HAVES
2018 is upon us. We have about two months before we have to relearn to write our checks (who still writes checks?) and double check the date every 10 minutes. But, if you’re going to be using the bullet journal system, which I clearly recommend, it will make the New Year change a lot smoother. You’re going to want to have some new stationery supplies to go with your 2018 Bullet Journal. I’ve drafted up a list of items you will want to put on your wishlist.
Stamps and Stencils
Stamps and stencils are lifesavers for busy people who don’t have time to design their layouts. Think of how long it takes to create your future log and write out all those numbers. Now cut that time by like 80%. That’s the magic of stamps. And drawing out habit trackers, that’s like a half-hour ordeal. But can be made quicker with a stencil.
Helloooo simplified future log! Every month can be made simple with this clear stamp. Simply ink the stamp you need to use and days within the given month, and use a clear acrylic stamp block to place it exactly where you want in.
The spiraldex is an attractive and effective way of tracking your time throughout the day. But, without a stamp or a stencil, it isn’t the easiest tracker to draw. But this stencil from Etsy stencil will make your 2018 bullet journal look sophisticated and make your days more productive.
Holy stencils, Batman. You can get this 20 pack of stencils for your bullet journal on just about any budget. Add lettering, banners, boxes, and checklists to your bullet journal in no time with this kit.
Washi Tape Organization
I’m not including any actual washi tape on this list because you probably already have more rolls than your significant other thinks is acceptable. But do you have an efficient organization method? While I’m all for creativity and gorgeous patterns, I like a little practicality in my life. So, if your washi tape is currently piled in a desk drawer, maybe one of these washi tape organizers would do well on your wishlist.
This one is for the washi tape queen. You know who you are. If you have 100+ rolls of washi tape, you may want to consider investing in this creative storage solution. Organize by color or occasion, and view your stunning display anytime you want.
For the slightly less invested washi tape owner, this storage and display is a great addition to your desktop. Access all of your rolls quickly and easily. Plus, you can add some decoration on top or add pen storage on top.
And of course, if you need something smaller, there are these clear plastic storage bins. Slide them in your desk drawer or stack them up. This particular one holds up to 45 rolls of washi.
Notebooks
There are starting to be a lot more options for dot grid journals. I love the idea of having options. Who doesn’t love a crisp new notebook? It’s one of the reasons I love the new year so much. Something about cracking open a new notebook and planning out a fresh journal setup. Yes girl, yes!
The Lemome journal is on my wishlist. I have talked to people in the community, and there’s a lot of hype going on with this one. It costs less than the leading brands, and it comes with a unique cover and a few bonus stationery goodies.
The Dingbats journal is sophisticated. You can take it to the office or a business meeting without a cover. It’s also green, and for every tree they harvest they replant or allow the trees to regenerate naturally. It’s not just a millennial thing to care about the planet. Everyone should be doing it.
The last notebook on the list is the Scribbles that Matter Pro. This is notebook I’m leaning towards getting for my 2018 bullet journal, although it’s not set in stone yet. The reviews are incredible, the STM team is down to Earth and super friendly, and the pages are thick and beautiful. So far, I haven’t come up with a reason not to buy this journal.
Writing Supplies
My favorite things to buy are pens and markers. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s an addiction. But I wouldn’t deny the claim either. Everyone’s preferences for pens are different. I like a fine point nib, but I’ve also included the best rollerball option and a fabulous starter fountain pen.
The Pilot MR Retro Pop is a great starter fountain pen. If you have been wanting to try a fountain pen but don’t want to spend a fortune, this pen is your best option. It’s very affordable and comes with a prefilled black ink cartridge.
There are so many choices for rollerball pens, so it’s hard to narrow it down to just one suggestion. But, for the sake of giving you the best option, I think the Pilot G2 gel ink rollerball pens top the list. They’re smooth to write with, the ink is of premium quality, and they don’t bleed through the pages.
Onto my favorite pens of all time! I love the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners! They recently came out with this 50 pack and I am drooling. They do have smaller packs of 42, 36, 20, and 10.
